This weekend Roy will be participate with the RS01 in the 3th race of the season on the Reddbulring in Austria. In the last race in Italy Roy recieves a four place grid penalty which he will have to accept this race. I try to put my best qualification of the year, we will fight for a good result, let’s go racing # 19

This weekend Roy will participate in the second race of the Renault Sport Trophy season on the Imola circuit in Italy. Follow his R.S.01 Vodafoon car # 19 Below the information of the free practice, qualifying and races on Saturday and Sunday.

Last weekend the first race event of the 2016 Renault Sport Trophy championship take place at the Motorland circuit in Aragon Spain. After a bad qualify session on Friday, because an issue with the car, Roy was doing a good job during the Endurance race on Saturday. Starting from 12th position he was fighting his way through the field. After 40 minutes of close racing he manages his car to the 6th position but has to stop the race after an incident with another driver. The sprint race on Sunday was even better. After a rocket start Roy bring his car to the 5th position in the first lap and after 20 minutes of racing on a 4th position overall. He overtake seven cars during the sprint race, a very good job!  #car19keeponpushing!

This weekend will start the first race of the 2016 season at the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain. Roy will participate with team Equipe Verschuur and will join the races in his Renault R.S.01 The level of PRO drivers is very high so it will be a tough championschip. I am very happy to announce that we will race together with team Verschuur this season  in the Renault Sport Trophy championship. Next week I will be back in the R.S.01 to participate the collective test at Estoril Portugal. I am very pleased to race this year together with Equipe Verschuur. They have proved themselves last year in this car and champioenship. I am looking forward to this new season and would like to thank all my sponsors who have contributed this. #herewecome!

Tijdens de 5de World Series by Renault wedstrijd op het legendarische circuit van Le Mans in Frankrijk is Roy hard gecrasht. Tijdens de sprintrace op zondag ging het flink mis. Roy moest starten vanaf de 6de plaats en had een goede start. In de eerste bocht lag hij op een 4de plaats geheel aan de binnenzijde van de baan. Tijdens deze actie werd hij echter naar de binnenzijde van de baan gedrukt en moest hij met 2 wielen over de binnen curb van de baan. Op deze binnen curb verloor hij door een hobbel en de hoge snelheid de achterkant van de auto en belande hij na een 360 graden spin hard in de banden. “Roy” de snelheid van een race auto werkt verslavend maar na een heftige impact als deze weet je weer hoe hard het gaat. Ik ben aansluitend na de crash naar het ziekenhuis vervoerd en heb een scan gehad ter controle. Uit deze scan bleek mijn milt beschadigd te zijn, gelukkig is deze ondertussen door rust weer volledig hersteld. Helaas heb ik hierdoor de laatste wedstrijd in Jerez moeten missen en op deze manier het kampioenschap moeten staken, jammer maar mijn gezondheid is natuurlijk het belangrijkst. Momenteel bereiden we ons voor op de volgende stap… I will be back in 2016 harder stronger faster!

Tijdens de 4de race van het seizoen heeft het duo Roy Geerts en Max Braams de eerste plaats weten te veroveren tijdens de Renault Sport Trophy Endurance race op Zaterdag. Roy had zijn auto #4 zaterdag ochtend met de snelste tijd bij de elite drivers op pole gekwalificeerd wat hem zowel voor de sprint race alsmede voor de endurace race met Max de beste uitgangspositie op de grid opleverde. Roy begon de race dus vanaf pole en had een zéér goede start. Ik heb hard en erg stabiel kunnen rijden en in mijn 45 minuten durende stint een voorsprong van 7 seconden kunnen uitbouwen t.o.v. de nummer 2. Dit gaf ons een goede uitgangspositie voor de rijders wissel. Helaas ging het in de pitlane bij deze wissel toch even mis en verloren we hier kostbare secondes waardoor Max na de wissel als 2de op de baan kwam. In het laatste gedeelte van de race kwam er echter een saftycar op de baan en kon Max zich goed positioneren voor de herstart. Bij de herstart kon Max de eerste plaats veroveren en deze heeft hij weten te behouden tot aan de finish. Een geweldig resultaat van ons allemaal, op het podium op de eerste plaats onder toeziend oog van vele gasten en sponsoren! Een ware beloning na het harde werken. De sprintrace op Zondag verliep voor Roy helaas minder positief. Na ook hier vanaf pole te zijn vertrokken liep zijn voorwiel veel schade op na contact met een andere rijder en moest hij de strijd voortijdig staken. Dit is erg jammer maar hoort helaas bij het racen. We vertekken echter met opgeheven hoofd, dit weekend hebben we laten zien dat we zéér snel zijn en ook wedstrijden kunnen winnen. We hebben met het gehele team flinke stappen voorwaards gemaakt!
